Virginia Bickel's newest book Come September  has just been released. Order it now!

In Virginia Bickel?s second book, she turns from historical fiction to mystery. Come September is the story of Daniel Lindsey?s quest to identify the young woman found unconscious in front of his store, and to find out what she was doing on Mesa Street, in El Paso, Texas.  She brings to this genre her skill with character development and dialogue. You won't be disappointed.

july1.jpg (88024 bytes) This photo was taken in the afternoon of 20th July 2000. It contains all the cuttings that are being grown on both as bushes and standards for next year.  The standards are growing strongly and are now well established in 5" pots. I will continue removing side-shoots as they occur on the single stem. The bush type plants have now been stopped twice and are bushing out nicely.
july2.jpg (89237 bytes) This photo was taken in the afternoon of 20th July 2000.  It displays the plants from another angle. Note the metal stand in the middle of the lawn on which I have 5" metal rings to hold up to a dozen plant-pots (a good way of getting lots of plants into a smaller space) Also note the large plant to the left of the concrete structure, this is a plant of "Star of Pink" which I am preparing for this years Moorgreen show.
july3.jpg (86545 bytes) This photo was taken in the afternoon of 20th July 2000 and is of the two large plants of "Star of Pink" that I am growing for this years Moorgreen show. The plants are looking really good and have appreciated the long spell of damp weather we've had over here. We are now getting lots of sunshine so I think they will be in full flower for the show on the 27th of August. Please note that the plants are standing in car tyres, this helps prevent them being blown over and suffering damage.
july4.jpg (93680 bytes) This photo was taken in the afternoon of 20th July 2000 and is a shot looking over the top of the two large plants towards the green-house. Please note the four standards of "Waveney Sunrise" standing to the right with the pots inserted into heavy pieces of clay pipe to prevent them blowing over. We have high winds here in the UK and this method prevents lots of damage.
